Our story
UMANO began with a shared belief that valuable scientific discoveries should not remain confined to laboratories, research papers or academic institutions. They should be developed into practical innovations capable of improving lives and protecting the world around us. Our name reflects that purpose. UMANO means “human”- a reminder that people are at the heart of everything we create.
Every UMANO innovation begins with the same question:
‘Can this make life better for mankind while creating a more sustainable future for the planet?’
Our founders brought together decades of scientific research with expertise in technology, business and commercial development to build a company capable of turning promising natural discoveries into practical, scalable solutions.
Founded in Wales, UMANO has grown through collaboration between people with different but complementary backgrounds. Science provides the foundation, technology creates new possibilities, and commercial thinking gives each innovation a route to meaningful real-world impact.
Much of our work remains confidential while it is being developed and protected, but every project is guided by the same principles: it must be natural, sustainable, commercially viable and capable of delivering a genuine benefit to humanity and the planet.
That is why we are called UMANO - and why human progress will always remain at the centre of what we do.
